FAQs About Our Hiring Process
To get you started, below are some Frequently Asked Questions candidates have when applying for our security officer positions. You can also read more in-depth about our application, interview and hiring process, and expectations here.
Not necessarily. Prior work experience as in security is certainly helpful but we all need to start some where. At times, it is easier to train someone without previous experience because they have not yet developed work habits that don't align with CMP. At other times, it is desirable to have security experience because this person is familiar with patrol and radio procedures, observation, and other work duties.
Regardless of your work experience in security, we look for a good fit in our candidates: do you live the same core values? Are you a dedicated leader who can work as part of a team to further our customers' safety and security?
CMP's basic employment requirements for our security officers are below:

- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Willingness to participate in our pre-employment screening process (drug screen and background checks)
- Valid California drivers license
- Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Certification
- Firearms Permit (Patrol Officers must have a Firearms Permit by the date of hire for armed positions)
- CPR & First Aid Certification (desirable)
CMP realizes not everyone has the same goals or availability. Keeping in mind that our industry is 24/7/365, we work as best we can with our officers' schedules to make sure everyone's life and work balances well and provide our customers with the premium security coverage they expect.
We are a growing company in the San Gabriel Valley and we expect to expand into to other geographical areas. We do offer our employees a ladder of growth within the company.
According to a leading employment search aggregate, security employment in the U.S. is expected to grow 4% by 2028 - this is the same as the national average for all other occupations. There will always be a need for security to help people protect their families, homes, and businesses, as long as there are concerns about vandalism, theft, and crime.
